Access
The Edilex methodology is a setting that can be viewed on the properties page of a template or a project, as well as in the details panel of a template.
Overall functioning
The Edilex methodology propagates through the chain of templates and projects. The value of the setting is configured in a template that is not derived from any other, which can be a standard template or a matrix template. Each template or project subsequently created from this original template automatically inherits this value, which can then no longer be modified.
Advantages
The Edilex methodology is a set of constraints voluntarily applied to the structure of documents in order to ensure uniformity, from one project to another and from one project document to another.
In particular, it ensures that the numbering and title of the contractual sections (the top-level sections) remain identical from one document to another within the same project and across a set of projects of the same type. For example, in a call for tenders, warranties are addressed in section 4.00 of the general conditions, the bid form, and the contract. This facilitates the findability of content and communication between project collaborators.
The Edilex methodology generally applies to contractual documents in the Quebec public sector, particularly to calls for tenders and negotiated contracts.
Rules of the Edilex methodology
When the Edilex methodology is enabled, the following constraints apply to the documents of the template or project subject to it.

-

Organization settings
The Edilex methodology takes precedence over the numbering preference defined at the organization level.

-
No document can be deleted or added.
-
The order of the documents cannot be modified.
-
The title of the documents cannot be modified.
Schedules
Schedules are not subject to the constraints of the Edilex methodology.
